For a young mother it’s always those little moments that reassure you that you are doing a great job, reassure you that everything you have sacrificed is and was worth it all. The fact that it puts a little sparkle back into your eyes after a hard day of all the chores, house work, and job searching.
The little moments like my older son helping my little one learn how to use the tablet. The little moments after the kids are in there PJ’s and are wrestling with their daddy before hit the hay. The little moments when your little one wakes up from his nap and just wants to be cuddled and lay his head on your chest for 10-15 mins, while the whole world just stops. Having the kids sit on the counter and mess with spoons while you cook. “Helping” you unload the dishwasher. All the little moments add up and become grander moments that you will cherish forever.
Everyone tells you in a blink of an eye they will be heading off to kindergarten, middle school, homecoming, prom, and graduation. As the days go by the more I start to understand what everyone is talking about. It feels like just yesterday my boys were holding onto my pinky’s to walk, waiting for me to give them just one more bite of their baby food, and watching my mouth, while listening to my voice to learn to talk.
Parenting is hard but those little moments make it worth it and I wouldn’t trade it for the world!
Until next time…..
